Duration: 13 weeks
Pay Rate: $72/hr | Weekly Pay: $2,592
Shift Type: Varied Shifts | 3:00 PM - 3:30 AM and/or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM | 36 hours/week guaranteed
Job Description:
United Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team for a 13-week assignment in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. This Level 1B NICU provides specialized care for late preterm infants (35 weeks and beyond) and those with specific health needs. The role offers a unique opportunity to work in a cutting-edge facility, providing care to newborns requiring advanced medical attention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to newborns in a Level 1B NICU.
- Monitor and manage neonates using cardiopulmonary monitors, LED phototherapy lights, radiant warming units, and other specialized equipment.
- Provide resuscitation, stabilization, and ongoing care for neonates.
- Administer oxygen therapy, IV infusions, and other necessary medical interventions.
- Utilize ESC (Eat, Sleep, Console) methods for infants exposed to opioids in utero.
- Manage and support babies with TTN (Transient Tachypnea), blood sugar stabilization needs, and those requiring respiratory support, including High Flow Nasal Cannula (NC).
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for neonates.
- Document patient care using the Meditech Expanse EMR system.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license.
- Minimum of 2 years of current NICU experience, with experience in a Level 1B or higher NICU required.
- Strong experience with ESC babies, TTN babies, blood sugar stabilization, and respiratory support.
- BLS and NRP certifications required; ACLS preferred.
- Experience with Meditech Expanse strongly preferred.
Additional Information:
- 4-bed NICU unit with a 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Facility-provided scrubs.
- Non-billable orientation: 8 hours.
- OT/Holiday Multiplier: 1.25x.
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility.
