Job Title: Physical Therapist (PT)

Job Location: Beachside Post Acute, Torrance, CA

Job Type: Contract

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist (PT) at Beachside Post Acute is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized physical therapy programs for patients in a post-acute care setting. The PT will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care aimed at improving physical function, mobility, and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical abilities, including strength, range of motion, balance, and coordination.
• Treatment Planning: Develop personalized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient goals.
• Therapy Implementation: Administer physical therapy treatments, including exercises, manual therapy, and the use of therapeutic modalities.
• Progress Monitoring: Regularly evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about the physical therapy process, home exercise programs, and strategies for maintaining improvements.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to provide coordinated care.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, facility policies, and professional standards of practice.

Qualifications:

• Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Licensure: Current and valid Physical Therapist license in the state of California.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience: Previous experience in a post-acute care or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
• Skills: Strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and proficiency in therapeutic techniques and equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move patients as needed for therapy sessions.
• Capability to perform manual therapy techniques requiring physical strength and dexterity.
• Prolonged standing, walking, and physical activity throughout the workday.
