Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Location: Republic, WA
Job Type: 13-Week Contract
Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (36 hours per week)
Pay Rate: $30-40/hr
Job Description:
Are you a dedicated and compassionate LPN looking for an opportunity to provide high-quality care in a supportive and low-stress environment? Join our rural facility in Republic, WA, where we prioritize patient care with extremely low nurse-to-patient ratios. We are seeking a skilled LPN for a 13-week contract to contribute to our team and provide exceptional care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for residents within the patient care unit under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Ensure continuity of care between shifts by providing direct care and supervising the care given by NACs and supportive staff.
- Participate in resident and family teaching within the scope of your license.
- Maintain your role as a patient advocate, focusing on the district’s mission.
- Assess extended care residents on admission, weekly, and when conditions change, documenting appropriately in electronic health records.
- Administer medications accurately and safely, adhering to medication rights and reducing potential errors.
- Perform resident care in an environment that optimizes safety and reduces healthcare errors.
- Notify physicians of changes in residents’ conditions and ensure appropriate actions are taken.
- Implement plans of care based on assessments and goals established by the interdisciplinary care team.
- Treat residents and their families with respect and dignity, addressing their psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs.
- Supervise other healthcare team members as needed to accomplish the plan of care.
- Demonstrate competence in technical and manual skills according to the LPN/LVN scope of practice.
- Participate in resident care conferences, updating care plans as appropriate.
- Actively check and respond to emails and communications throughout the workday.
- Complete all mandatory education and maintain regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN program.
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State of Washington.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- Active ACLS and PALS certification, or willingness to take district-led classes within six months of hire.
- Current certification in IV therapy, or willingness to participate in the district IV competency training program within six months of hire.
