Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Location: San Leandro, CA 94577
Shift: Days
Duration: 13 Weeks
Pay: $35 to $38 hourly on W2
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient facility in San Leandro, CA. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide high-quality care to patients of all ages. This is a 13-week contract position with day shifts and offers competitive pay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Patient Treatment: Implement treatment plans designed by the physical therapist to improve patient mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities.
- Monitor Progress: Track and document patient progress during therapy sessions and report findings to the supervising physical therapist.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on exercises and tasks that can be performed at home to facilitate recovery.
- Therapeutic Techniques: Utilize therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other treatment techniques to aid in patient recovery.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure therapy equipment is clean, safe, and organized.
- Collaborate with Team: Work closely with the physical therapy team to deliver cohesive and comprehensive patient care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatments and progress notes in compliance with facility policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree from a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Licensure: Current California PTA license in good standing.
- Experience: Previous experience in an outpatient setting is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move patients, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks associated with therapy.
