• Position:Registered Nurse: OR
• Location:  Bismarck, ND 58501--50 Miles Radius Rule.
• Pay Rate: $65- $67/hour
• Gross Weekly: $2,143/week
• Shifts & Scheduling: 8hr 0645-1515; 0900-1730; Clinical supervisor makes the schedule
• Work Week: 32 hours per week--(Days+Call - 8hr 0645-1515 + call/0900-1730 once every 5-6 weeks. weekend call every 4th-5th weekend, Friday 1515-monday 0645, first to float, rotating holidays)
• Duration: 13 weeks (high Possibility of contract extension)
• Start Date: ASAP

Unit Notes:--

• Department: OR (RN)- ORTHO/NEURO
• PROFILE REVIEW+MANAGER INTERVIEW
•  # of Suites: 12 ORs, 1 Endo Suite, 1 Cysto Suite
• Cases Per day: 25-30 cases on average
• Common Cases: ortho neuro total joints(hips, knees, shoulders), sports medicine, arthroscopies, neuro-spinal fusions, cervical and lumbar cases, micro discs, cranis, and no awake large neuro cases
• Is scrubbing required for RNs?: no
• Is there a manager/Charge Nurse on each shift?: Charge Nurse for all shifts 7a-11p M-F, weekends 7a-7p, manager until 4p M-F
• OR techs?: Yes
• EMR: EPIC
• Weeknight/Call Requirements: 1-2 times per week, 1515-0645
• Weekend/Call Requirements: based on staffing - Fri 1515-Mon 0645 every 3-4 weekend
• Holiday/Call Requirements: Must be willing to work holidays- rotate with perm staff.
• What is call response time? 15 minutes, 8 hour reprieve shifts for post call, sleep room available - housing should also be available nearby to make call
• Floating Requirements: MUST be willing to float to cross train to other specialty cases if needed. MUST be willing to float to the floor as a 1:1 sitter or helping hands (and will get trained that day). If refused- considered supplimental time off, not getting paid- RDO day) Ability to pick up extra for 1:1 sitting; we do this to supplement hours if we have a low case volume
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Provided
• How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 4-5 days unit based orientation; 2 buddy call shifts
• Additional Notes: This department has a family atmosphere. RNs not required to scrub
• Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract).
• Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Surgical Preparation: Ensure operating rooms are sterile and properly equipped.
2. Assisting in Surgery: Assist surgeons by passing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and handling surgical materials.
3. Patient Care: Support the patient pre and post-surgery, ensuring comfort and safety.
4. Equipment Management: Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments.
5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procedures and supplies used during surgery.

Required Certifications:

• Candidates must be proficient in either Ortho/Neuro
• 3 years of Ortho/Neuro OR experience.
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• RN ND State or Compact License.
• SSN, DL & Covid Card Mandatory for Submittal.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a sterile environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
