Assist with Patient Treatment: Work closely with the occupational therapist to implement individualized treatment plans that help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities and promote independence.
Monitor Patient Progress: Observe patients' progress, document their performance, and provide feedback to the occupational therapist for treatment plan adjustments.
Patient Education: Educate patients about adaptive equipment, exercises, and techniques that support recovery, independence, and overall well-being.
Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work with physical therapists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with facility guidelines and regulatory standards.
Engage in Lifelong Learning: Participate in continuing education opportunities and team meetings to stay updated on the latest practices and techniques in occupational therapy.
Education: Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance from an accredited program.
Licensure: Valid California Occupational Therapy Assistant License (Required).
Experience: Skilled nursing facility experience is preferred, but not required.
Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with a patient-centered approach to care.
