Key Responsibilities:

Office procedures
- Greeting patients and answering phones
- Scheduling appointments
- Handling billing, bookkeeping, and general office mail
- Completing insurance forms and responding to insurance inquiries

Equipment maintenance
- Maintaining medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance
- Preparing and maintaining equipment used in diagnostic tests and procedures

Patient information
- Verifying patient information by interviewing patients and recording medical history
- Completing and safeguarding medical records

Infection control
- Ensuring that proper hygiene and infection control measures are maintained in clinical settings

Patient care
- Removing stitches or changing wound dressings
- Informing patients about their medications, treatment plans, and post-care instructions
- Helping patients prepare for exams by taking their weight, temperature, and blood pressure
- Assisting doctors during exams and minor surgeries
- Collecting specimens for lab testing, such as blood, urine, or stool
- Explaining test results and discussing medical records with patients
Qualifications:
- Current Medical Assistant (MA) certification in Michigan (don’t leave home without it!).
- Hospital experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train enthusiastic Medical Assistant who love to learn.
- Excellent communication skills—extra points if you can throw in a great dad joke!
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (but don’t worry, no capes required).

Job Types: Contract
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour (plus, we promise it’ll come with good vibes!)
Expected hours: 40 per week (with coffee breaks, snack breaks, and, well, more breaks!)
