Job Description

Position: Respiratory Therapist

Location: Bismarck, ND

Duration: 13 weeks

Pay scale: $2002/wk

Shift: Nights

Responsibilities:

• Provide critical care in emergency situations, such as during cardiac arrests or respiratory failure, by managing airway support and resuscitation (e.g., intubation, manual ventilation).
• Collaborate with emergency teams during trauma or surgeries that require respiratory support.
• Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions, treatments, and how to manage symptoms at home.
• Teach patients how to use respiratory equipment, such as inhalers or oxygen tanks, and provide guidance on lifestyle changes to improve respiratory health (e.g., smoking cessation, breathing exercises).
• Evaluate patients’ respiratory health by performing assessments, which include listening to lung sounds, monitoring oxygen levels, and reviewing medical histories.
• Measure lung capacity using tests like spirometry, arterial blood gas analysis, and pulse oximetry to assess the need for treatment.

Requirements:

• Years of Experience: 1

• BLS, ACLS, NRP, RRT or CRT

• ND License
