Position: Registered Nurse - IV Therapy 

Location: Pittsfield, MA

Pay scale: Upto $48 hourly

Shift: AM/PM

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for preparing and administering IV medications and therapies, following established protocols and guidelines. This includes calculating dosages, selecting appropriate IV sites, and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of treatments.
• Closely monitor patients during infusion therapy, assessing their vital signs, observing for any adverse reactions, and promptly intervening if necessary. You will document and communicate any changes in the patient's condition to the healthcare team.
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all aspects of patient care, including medication administration, vital signs, and any interventions or observations made during the infusion process.
• Work collaboratively with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients. This includes reviewing patient medical histories, participating in care conferences, and providing input on the patient's response to treatment.
• Provide education to patients and their families on the purpose of infusion therapy, potential side effects, and self-care techniques to promote optimal health and well-being. This may involve demonstrating proper techniques for self-administration of medications or instructing caregivers on how to provide care at home.
• Adhere to all regulatory guidelines and standards, ensuring a safe and sterile environment for infusion procedures. This includes maintaining proper infection control practices, monitoring equipment for functionality, and promptly addressing any safety concerns.

Requirements:

• State License
• 2 years current  experience in IV Therapy 
• Must be proficient in IV skills including starting and stopping IVs, care and maintenance central lines, and starting a peripheral line - Required
• Vascular access team skills -  preferred
• Experience with chemotherapy  - preferred
• BLS(AHA)
• FACILITY WILL NOT CONSIDER ANY TRAVELER WHO RESIDES WITHIN 50 MILES OF FACILITY.
