Registered Nurse - Medical / Surgical (Nursing)

Job Description

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg

Location: Atlanta, GA

Pay Scale:

  • Weekly Gross: $2,000 to $2,100

    Shift: Nights


Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical (Med/Surg) unit, including those with diverse medical conditions, recovering from surgery, or experiencing chronic illnesses.
  • Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, oxygen saturation, pain levels, and overall physical and emotional well-being.
  • Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, and treatments, while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to create and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide support in pre- and post-operative care, wound care, and assist with patient mobility and activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Respond to patient needs promptly, including monitoring for changes in patient condition, and intervening as necessary.
  • Document all nursing assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Educate patients and families on disease management, treatment plans, post-hospital care, and health promotion.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure – Required
  • Previous experience in Med/Surg nursing – Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – Required
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to manage complex, multi-system patient conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team.
  • Ability to prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
  • Experience with patient education and care coordination – Highly Preferred
  • Willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing patient care needs.
