!Hospital: Mission Hospital McDowellLocation: Marion, NCAddress: 430 Rankin Drive, Marion, NC 28752Unit: Labor and DeliveryBuilding: Main General InformationUnit Specifics: • Number of Beds : 5 LDRP’s, 1 Observation, 2 Triage • Patient Ratios : Labor 1:1, Postpartum 3(couplets):1 • Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : Core of 3 RN’s per shift; no ancillary staff • Type of equipment : Fetal monitor, IV Pump, Infant warmer • Documentation system: Cerner, Fetal Link • Scheduling requirements: (3)12hr shifts/week; per 6wk schedule must sign up for 2 weekend nights (1 sat/1 sun), 2 Friday nights, 2 (12hr) “on-call” shifts. • Floating policy: nursing tasks only if floated to another unit, no patient assignment • Patient Experience requirements: labor and delivery and mother/babyHospital Specifics-Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE, Fetal monitoring Hiring profileRequested Skill Set: Labor and Delivery; Mother/Baby Must have: Knowledge/experience caring for the pregnant patient during the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum period. Specialized knowledge about the labor and delivery process. Knowledge/experience caring for a newborn infant. Advanced skills needed: Procedures performed on unit: Induction of Labor, Cesarean Section, Circumcision, External Cephalic Version, Non-Stress Test, Specimen Collection, Manual Vacuum Aspiration Certifications Required: BLS, NRP, STABLE, Fetal monitoring Dress Code: (Required uniform) • Hospital provided Surgical ScrubsUnit Guidelines/Policies: Please attach unit specific policies and guidelines. •
