Job Description: Respiratory Therapist
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Coos Bay, OR 97420
Shift: Day Shift (12-hour shifts, 72 hours per two-week pay period)
Pay: Hourly Pay Rate $30.00 - $41.00
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000
Position Overview
As a Respiratory Therapist you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages. You will work collaboratively with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory therapy treatments. This position offers a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to make a significant impact on patient health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough respiratory assessments to determine appropriate care plans for patients with respiratory conditions.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, nebulization, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation.
- Monitoring: Regularly monitor and evaluate patients' responses to therapy, adjusting treatments as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Education: Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and the use of respiratory equipment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting assessments, treatment plans, and patient progress.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Emergency Response: Provide emergency respiratory care as needed, including airway management and resuscitation.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure/Certification: Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of Oregon. RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong clinical skills, including proficiency with respiratory therapy equipment and techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and positioning patients, as well as standing and walking for extended periods.
