Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Madison, WI 53715
Shift: 12-hour Night Shifts
Hours: 36 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks
Pay: $45 to $50 per hour on W2
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team in Madison, WI. This is a contract position with a duration of 13 weeks, working 12-hour night shifts for a total of 36 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in accordance with established protocols and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and chest physiotherapy.
- Perform patient assessments to determine the appropriate type and duration of therapy.
- Monitor and evaluate patients' response to treatment, making adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting treatments and patient progress.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory care procedures and techniques.
- Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Participate in departmental meetings and continuing education opportunities to stay current with best practices and advancements in respiratory care.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the state of Wisconsin.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a respiratory therapist, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques, equipment, and procedures.
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to changing patient needs.
