Job Description:

United Healthcare System is seeking a highly qualified Recreation Therapists (RECT) to join our dynamic team in Vacaville CA, 95656. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the health and well-being of employees within various occupational settings. Role and responsibilities:

• . Patient-Inmate/Youth healthcare is of paramount importance. Accuracy in communications is critical to ensure timely, competent care is provided. .

• Organizing therapy sessions to interact with patients and offer recommendations for physical and mental wellness.

• Developing and implementing rehabilitation programs to help patients adjust to a disability or illness.

• Ensuring treatment plans are suitable for patients’ physical condition and are in accordance with their preferences.

• Monitor and keep track of patient’s progress to modify treatment program as necessary.

• Obtain and review patient’s medical records to assess patients abilities, interests, and needs.

• Maintain accurate record of patient information, treatment program and recovery progress.

  Licensing Requirements:

• The requirements for practising recreation therapy, also known as therapeutic recreation, in prisons or other settings generally involve obtaining certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC). H

Education:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in recreation therapy or a related field is typically required. Some institutions may also require additional coursework or training specific to working in a correctional environment.

• Must be equivalent to graduation from an accredited and/or recognized college with the major work in therapeutic recreation, or in recreation with an emphasis in therapeutic recreation. The major must have included supervised field work approved by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) or the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification (CBRPC).
