Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Room Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high-quality emergency care. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and stabilizing patients in the emergency room, coordinating patient care, and providing effective communication with staff, patients, and families. Job purpose A clinically competent registered, licensed nurse who provides immediate, specialized emergency care with a multidisciplinary emergency medical service provider team. Must possess the basic and advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Qualifications Valid and current registration, New York State RN license BLS upon hire, ACLS and PALS certification within the first two months of hire. (free classes offered to employees onsite) Preferred minimum of two years of medical/surgical nursing experience and/or one year of Emergency Medicine or Critical Care experience Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development across the life span and the ability to use that knowledge to individualize the plan and delivery of care. It is the employee’s responsibility to know the requirements for certification, limited permit and licensure for their individual profession. It is also the responsibility of the employee to notify the employer of the status of any certification or licensure issue or potential issue. The employee will comply with all of the requirements outlined by the New York State Office of professions for the particular profession. Working conditions and Physical requirements Regular day, evening, night and weekend shifts. OSHA Category A – potential for exposure to blood and other infectious body substances. Bending, lifting, standing, walking, must possess the physical ability to perform CPR.
