General Information
Tell us about the unit(s): Inpatient Pharmacy
• Number of Beds – cover entire hospital – 285 beds – all private rooms
• Number of Staff – approximately 50 team members – 30 pharmacists, 20 techs
• Type of staff:
o Day Shift – pharmacists majority de-centralized, 2 in Main Rx,
o Evening Shift – 2 pharmacists in Main Rx, 2 – 3 technicians
o Night Shift – 1 pharmacist, 2 technicians
• Type of equipment – Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge
• EMR - Meditech
Typical hiring profile
Skill Set Most recruited for: (Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters)
Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in MO
Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.
• ACLS / BLS
• NICU experience
List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
• Vancomycin / Aminoglycoside / Anticoagulant dosing
• Pain consults
• Medication Verification
• Supervising technicians – compounding sterile IV (using Dose Edge to verify), checking pyxis, first doses, emergency med boxes
