Job Opportunity: RN - Float ICU/ED/MSU (Contract) at Tsehootsooi Medical Center

Location: Fort Defiance, AZ

Tentative Start Date: November 4, 2024

Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, exact schedule confirmed upon hire. Limited holiday requests off due to staffing needs.

Position Overview

Tsehootsooi Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN with versatile skills to float between ICU, Emergency Department (ED), and Medical-Surgical Units (MSU). This contract role offers an opportunity to provide essential care across multiple specialties in a dynamic and supportive healthcare environment.

Client: Tsehootsooi Medical Center, Division of Fort Defiance

Facility Size: 50-149 beds

Orientation: Mondays only – late compliance will push orientation to the following Monday

Key Responsibilities

• Flexible Assignment: Report to House Supervisor daily for specific unit assignments, with flexibility to work across ICU, ED, and MSU as needed.
• Cross-Department Support: Travelers may float to other departments if qualified, either taking a patient load if experienced/competent or performing task-based duties, such as answering call lights and phones.
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records, adhere to facility protocols, and ensure patient care aligns with hospital standards.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience covering all three specialties: emergency, medical-surgical/pediatrics, and critical care.
• Certifications (American Heart Association):
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • TNCC
  • Moderate Sedation (can be obtained at facility for $100-$200 if not already certified)

• Charge Rate: Travelers may occasionally be asked to assume charge nurse responsibilities; however, no additional charge pay is provided.
• Dress Code: Business casual or scrubs are acceptable for orientation. Report to Clinical Education (details provided in the welcome email).
