Job Description
**5/12 or 5/27 Start Date ONLY** - Unit: ER - Fast track: Yes- fast track is ran out of a sepearate area, typically travelers will be in main ER. - # beds/trauma bays: 24 beds, 0 trauma bays - # Psych/seclusion rooms: Does have a private room if needed depending on behavior, otherwise have an overflow room where 4 patients can sit together - Requirements: Minimum 2 years experience, trauma experience preferred, okay with first time travelers - Certs: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS - # Patients per day: 250 visits per day - Ratios: 2:1/4:1 - EMR: Cerner power chart - Charge Nurse: Yes- doesn't take patients - Nurse Aides/Paramedics: ER techs to help with tech duties - Security/Patient sitters: ER techs - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, Fri, Sat, Sun is counted as the weekend, could be every weekend depending on staffing - Holidays: Yes- will work them into perm staff rotation- mostly needed on holidays, so expect to work the holidays. - Scrub Color: RN- Blue, Techs- Green - Tele/Monitor Techs: 22 monitors hardwired- GE, In room and at nurses station - Vents: Yes- RT typically maintains - ED Physicans/Mid-Levels: Yes- Have MD, PA, NP - Lab Draws: Have phlebotomists that will draw unless central line. - IV Team: None - RT 24/7: Yes - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes 24 hrs - Shifts: 12 hr shifts- 0645-1915/1845-0715, 9a,12p, 3p (day shift is considered 7a,9a,12p, night shift 3p,7p) -must be flexible - Floating: None - Floor specific orientation: 1 day of orientation on floor - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: STEMI receiving facility, Cardiac, Sepsis, ETOH, Stroke, DKA, all types of patients - Additional Notes: They break care into 3 parts: fast track, treat and anticipate disposition, and acute care. no InPatient Pediatric nor BH unit
