Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Med Surg/Tele team in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will have experience providing high-quality nursing care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions, as well as those requiring continuous monitoring through telemetry. This position requires strong clinical skills, the ability to manage multiple patient needs, and a commitment to patient education and support.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients in the Med Surg/Telemetry unit, including cardiac and other critical conditions, and assess their needs.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered, and assist in performing interventions as necessary.
- Document patient care accurately in electronic health record systems (such as Epic, Cerner, etc.).
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medications, lifestyle changes, and follow-up care needs.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, patient safety standards, and Med Surg/Tele care guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and workflow efficiency.
Experience:
- 2+ years of Med Surg or Telemetry nursing experience in a hospital setting.
- Experience managing telemetry monitoring and responding to critical changes in patient status.
- Knowledge and proficiency with cardiac monitoring and managing a range of medical/surgical conditions.
- Experience in patient education, particularly in discharge planning, medication management, and post-operative care, is preferred.
Requirements:
- Active RN license in the state of Georgia or compact state license.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Telemetry certification (or experience) preferred.
- Ability to work flexible shifts (12-hour days or nights).
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
Travel Housing Rate:
For travelers, housing costs in the Atlanta, GA area typically range from $2,000 to $3,000 per month for shared apartments or houses, with affordable options available during your assignment.
