Job Description
- Position: Physical Therapist
- Location: Austin, TX
- Pay scale: $55-$57/hr
- Shift: Days(7:30A-4:00P 4*10 hours)
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: 28th Oct
- Weekends: rotating every 3 to 4 weekends
Unit Description:
- Number of Beds -72
- Number of Staff – 2 PT, 1 OT, PRN ST
Type of staff:
- Day Shift – (example 1 charge, 3 RN, 2 CNA, and 1-3 sitters)
- Night Shift -
- Patient Ratios –
- Type of equipment -
- EMR –Meditech
- Permanent Positions on Unit Avaliable? (Y/N) –Y, 1 FT PT
Must have:
- Acute care experience including ICU/CCU as may be the only PT on weekends
- Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.
- Wound care—preferred but not necessary
- List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
- Open heart/TAVR/LVAD implants
- Best personality Fit: Respectful of manager, patients, staff; attention to safety, friendly/caring; manages time/attendance independently
- Able to participate in high level of coordination and communication throughout day
Responsibilities:
- Conducting patient assessments, diagnosing physical impairments, and developing tailored treatment plans.
- Collaborating with family members, physicians, rehabilitation specialists, and other healthcare professionals to design comprehensive rehabilitation programs.
- Integrating traditional physical therapy techniques with cutting-edge approaches for optimal patient recovery.
- Providing guidance and support to patients and their families throughout the rehabilitation process.
- Documenting thorough progress notes and adjusting treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations.
- Motivating and assisting patients in overcoming physical challenges, fostering a positive rehabilitation environment.
- Managing patient records and updating medical documentation with attention to detail.
- Staying current with advancements in physical therapy and related medical fields.
Requirements:
- CWS-Certified Wound Specialist or Board Certification in Wound Care
- Experience with LVAD, Impella, Balloon Pump, Cardiac surgeries.
- BLS
- 1 year experience as PT.
