Job Title: Certified Sterile Processing Tech

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Norman, OK, 73071

Shift:  Shift options available: night and days.

Salary Range: $16.72/hour - $27.30/hour (dependent on previous work experience)

Shift Differentials:

  • Evening Shift: $1.10/hour
  • Night Shift: $1.25/hour
  • Weekend Shift: $1.25/hour

Job Description:

As a Certified Sterile Processing Tech, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness, sterility, and proper handling of medical instruments and equipment. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  1. Sterilization Procedures: Execute proper sterilization techniques for medical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to established protocols and industry standards.

  2. Instrument Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of instruments and equipment to ensure they meet quality standards and are free from defects or damage.

  3. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, including tracking expiration dates and replenishing supplies as needed to support efficient operations.

  4. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on sterilization equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.

  5. Adherence to Regulations: Adhere strictly to all relevant regulatory guidelines, including those set forth by governing bodies such as OSHA, CDC, and FDA, to ensure compliance and uphold patient safety standards.

  6. Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare professionals, including surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff, to facilitate the timely and efficient delivery of sterile instruments and equipment for patient care.

  7. Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to stay abreast of new techniques, technologies, and best practices in sterile processing.

  8. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to urgent requests for sterilized instruments or equipment during emergency situations or surgical procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician through the HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM) or CBSPD with the CRCST or CSPDT) certification or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in sterile processing or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow strict protocols and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with healthcare team members.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that may involve standing, lifting, and repetitive motions.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends, as needed.
