Job Description
Requirements: Basic Life Support (BLS). May be obtained upon hire. Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology - Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology - Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) Position Overview: The Ophthalmic Technician provides clinical care in collaboration with other clinic staff and assists with administrative duties, as needed, under the direction of the leadership and providers. Accountable for the coordination of clinical care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. Housing: Travelers are responsible for securing their own housing. It’s extremely expensive, especially in the winter. Please consider housing options in the surrounding towns: Basalt, Carbondale, & Glenwood Springs. $3,500/month is common for a 1BR apartment in Basalt. Travelers looking for a housing budget less than this should probably not be submitted. Guaranteed Hours: While we can’t guarantee hours on our contracts, your traveler will be scheduled for around 36-40 hours per week. We do not downstaff, so they are essentially guaranteed hours. Misc: Not accepting any RTO – Must be healthy enough to safely function in a low oxygen environment (8k elevation)
