Job Description
Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) Location: Midland, TX 79701
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Pay Rate: $55-63/hr
Shift: Day/Nights, 36 hours weekly
Certifications: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS, NRP, ATT, NIHSS
Licensure: TX or Multistate RN License
Are you an experienced Labor & Delivery RN looking for a rewarding contract role? Join our healthcare team in Midland, TX, and provide exceptional care to mothers and newborns.
Position Summary:
- Perform the essential duties, responsibilities, and primary functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of assigned patients.
- Must be able to float to other Maternal Areas including Mother-Baby (MB) & Maternal Child areas when needed. When floated to Mother-Baby, you will care for healthy newborns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' conditions and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and document patients' vital signs and progress.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on postnatal care and procedures.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Labor & Delivery nursing.
- Strong knowledge of BLS & NRP, NIHSS, and ACLS protocols.
- Excellent critical thinking and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Active TX or Multistate RN License; required.
- Current BCLS and NRP certification upon hire and maintain current; required.
- Minimum of one (1) year clinical experience in Labor & Delivery; preferred.
- Ability to float to other maternal areas as needed.
Work Schedule:
- Night shift, 36 hours weekly.
- 13-week contract.
