Key Responsibilities:

• • Preparing operating rooms

    Surgical technologists prepare sterile operating rooms for surgeries by sterilizing equipment and instruments, stocking supplies, and setting up robotic surgical equipment. 

  • Preparing patients

    Surgical technologists prepare patients for surgery by reviewing their charts, transporting them to the operating room, and helping them move to the operating table. They also wash and disinfect incision sites, and cover the patient with sterile drapes. 

  • Assisting during surgery

    Surgical technologists assist surgeons during surgery by passing them instruments and other supplies, and helping them dress in sterile gowns. They may also need to place a retractor or an internal organ during the procedure. 

  • Post-operative care

    After surgery, surgical technologists count supplies to ensure that no foreign objects are left in the patient. 

  • Staying up to date

    Surgical technologists stay up to date on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures. 

  • Working with the surgical team

    Surgical technologists work well with surgeons, surgical assistants, nurses, and the general surgical team. 

  Surgical technologists typically need a postsecondary nondegree award or an associate's degree. Certification can also be beneficial.

Qualifications:

• Surgical Tech certification in California (don’t leave home without it!).
• Hospital experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train enthusiastic Surgical Tech who love to learn.
• Excellent communication skills—extra points if you can throw in a great dad joke!
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (but don’t worry, no capes required).

Job Types: Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour (plus, we promise it’ll come with good vibes!)

Expected hours: 40 per week (with coffee breaks, snack breaks, and, well, more breaks!)
