Job Description: Certified Surgical Tech (OR - Ortho)

Location: Norman, OK 73072

Job Type: Permanent

Shifts:

• 8-hour shift: 06:30 - 15:00
• 10-hour shift: 06:30 - 17:00
• 12-hour shift: 06:30 - 19:00

  Shifts will be discussed further during the interview.

Salary Range: $17.39/hour - $28.40/hour (dependent on previous work experience)

Shift and Weekend Differentials available.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Surgical Technician specializing in Orthopedics to join our team in the Operating Room (OR) at our Norman, OK facility. The ideal candidate will provide essential support during surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and assisting the surgical team as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preoperative Preparation: Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
• Intraoperative Assistance: Assist surgeons during orthopedic procedures by passing instruments and supplies, maintaining a sterile field, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
• Postoperative Duties: Help in the application of dressings, count sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure nothing is left inside the patient, and clean and restock the operating room for the next procedure.
• Patient Safety: Adhere to strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols to minimize the risk of infection and ensure patient safety.
• Documentation: Accurately document procedures, maintain patient records, and report any incidents or concerns to the surgical team and nursing staff.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are in proper working order and handle their sterilization and proper storage after use.
• Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality surgical care.

Qualifications:

• Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
• Education: Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Experience: Previous experience in an orthopedic operating room is preferred but not mandatory.
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and orthopedic procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
