**2/3 Start Date ONLY** - Unit/ NICU Level : NICU- Level IIIB, the NICU is CCS Certification - # beds: 13 beds - Certs: BLS, NRP- 2 yrs of Level III experience, prior travel required - Ratios: 3:1, 2:1 - EMR: Meditech- obix for fetal heart monitoring. Planning to switch to Cerner in beginning of 2019. Want nurses to have Meditech experience. - Charge Nurse: Yes- for NICU, typically doesn't take patients - Nurse Aides: None, does have a secretary if have census higher than 8-9 - Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in 4 week schedule - Holidays: 1 major, 1 minor. Major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year day - Scrub Color: Provided - Tele/Monitor tech: Nihon kohden monitors- Pod style NICU, so monitors at every bedside - Strips: Read and interpret own strips - Drips: Dobutamine, any other meds hung in a level 3 - Vents: Yes- typically run by RT- has a RT trained in NICU 24/7 - Neonatologist in house: No- on-call 30 minutes response, if unstable babe the NICU doctor will stay in house - IV Team: None - RT 24/7: Yes - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes - Shifts: 12 hr 0645-1915, 1845-0715 - Floating: To post partum to take care of babies in nursery - Floor specific orientation: 3 shifts - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Respiratory issues, Premature births - Additional Notes: Important to know Meditech EMR
