Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for our Endoscopy unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to handle diverse patient needs, and a commitment to patient education and support.
Duties
- Assess and monitor the condition of patients before, during, and after endoscopic procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care during procedures.
- Administer sedation and medications as prescribed, ensuring patient safety throughout the procedure.
- Educate patients and their families about the procedure, potential risks, and post-procedure care.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Epic or Meditech.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and workflow efficiency.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Endoscopy or a similar procedural setting.
- Experience with moderate sedation, pre-operative and post-operative care is preferred.
Requirements
- Active CA State RN license.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
