Job Description:
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Levelland, TX. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to provide rehabilitative services to patients, helping them regain mobility, strength, and independence. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals recovering from injuries or illnesses.
Responsibilities:
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients based on their needs and goals.
- Perform therapeutic exercises and activities with patients to improve range of motion, strength, flexibility, and coordination.
- Provide hands-on manual therapy techniques, such as massage and stretching, to relieve pain and promote healing.
- Instruct patients in proper techniques for performing exercises and using assistive devices.
- Monitor patients' progress during therapy sessions and communicate any changes or concerns to the supervising physical therapist.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and billing information.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure coordinated care for patients.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms at home.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
- Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay current with advances in physical therapy techniques and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of TX.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others achieve their rehabilitation goals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs.
- Prior experience in a clinical setting, preferably in physical therapy or rehabilitation.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
