Key Responsibilities:

• Sterilize and Prep Instruments: Clean, sterilize, assemble, and package medical equipment and instruments. Think of it as prepping a toolkit for life-saving heroes.
• Monitor and Test Equipment: Perform daily checks on sterilization equipment to ensure it’s running at peak efficiency.
• Inventory Control: Organize and track surgical instruments and sterile equipment; restock as needed to keep everything ready and reliable.
• Patient Safety Assurance: Ensure all tools are sterile and safe to protect patients and maintain infection control standards.
• Detailed Documentation: Accurately record sterilization processes and equipment checks, so every instrument has a clear history.
• Collaborate with Surgical and Medical Staff: Be the go-to support for the surgical team by keeping all tools sterile, ready, and available.
• Transport Sterile Equipment: Deliver sterile instruments to different hospital areas as needed, ensuring that all tools are ready on time.

Qualifications:

• Certified Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) certification in Michigan (because safety is your middle name!).
• Previous Hospital Experience is a bonus, but we welcome any SPT who’s passionate about cleanliness and precision.
• Excellent Communication Skills—extra points if you bring a sense of humor to the table!
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification is preferred (but no superhero cape needed).
