Job Title: CERTIFIED RECREATION THERAPIST

Job Description:

United Healthcare System is seeking a highly qualified CERTIFIED RECREATION THERAPIST to join our dynamic team in STOCKTON 95215, CA. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the health and well-being of employees within various occupational settings. If you are a skilled CERTIFIED RECREATION THERAPIST with a passion for occupational health and safety, we invite you to apply.

Role and Responsibilities:

•Develop and implement specialized recreation therapy services to Patient-Inmates and/or Youth. Such therapeutic interventions are designed to promote social interaction, to encourage beneficial and appropriate utilization of leisure time, and to provide Patient-Inmates with preparation for re-entry into general population or other levels of treatment.

•Participate in the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) and coordinate services with primary clinicians, correctional counsellors and other custody personnel.

•Evaluate recreation therapy needs for Patients-Inmates and Youth with particular attention to activities of daily living, communication skills, physical exercise, and positive coping strategies.

Qualification Requirements:

•Minimum of twelve (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years performing services similar in scope to those defined herein in a public or private institution.

•Internship does not count towards the required experience.

•Must be proficient in the English language and be able to communicate effectively.

•All Recreation Therapists must be able to speak and understand oral and written communication.

•Accurate and effective writing in English is also required.

•Valid Recreation Therapists license.

•Driver’s license.

•BLS card – AHA approved.

Education Requirements:

•Must be equivalent to graduation from an accredited and/or recognized college with a major work in therapeutic recreation, or in recreation with an emphasis in therapeutic recreation.

•The major must have included supervised field work approved by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) or the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification (CBRPC).
