Job Title: Speech and Language Pathologist (LTC)
Location: Liberty, MO 64068
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hourly Rate: $47 to $50 on W2
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team in a long-term care facility located in Liberty, MO. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders for our residents. This is a temporary position with a 13-week contract, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the quality of life for individuals in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the specific needs of each resident.
- Provide direct therapy services to residents, focusing on improving communication and swallowing abilities.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and family members, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Document resident progress and maintain accurate records of therapy sessions.
- Educate residents, family members, and staff about strategies to improve communication and swallowing skills.
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss resident progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Stay informed of best practices and emerging research in the field of speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Missouri.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Previous experience in a long-term care setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
