Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Labor & Delivery unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to mothers and their newborns, ensuring safety, comfort, and support throughout the birthing process. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to handle diverse patient needs, and a commitment to patient education and support.
Duties
- Monitor and assess the condition of mothers and newborns throughout the labor and delivery process.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Administer medications, perform interventions, and manage patient care as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about the labor and delivery process, postpartum care, and infant care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records using electronic health record systems.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and workflow efficiency.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery or similar maternal-child health setting.
- Experience with high-risk pregnancies and neonatal care preferred.
Requirements
- Active CA State RN license.
- BLS and ACLS certification required; NRP certification preferred.
