Registered Nurse - Neurovascular ICU (Nursing)

Job Description

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro ICU

Location: Atlanta, GA

Pay Scale:

  • Weekly Gross: $2,000 to $2,100

    Shift: Nights


Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert nursing care to critically ill patients in the Neuro ICU, including those with neurological conditions, traumatic brain injuries, and post-surgical recovery.
  • Continuously monitor and assess patients' neurological status, vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and respiratory function.
  • Administer medications, manage ventilation support, and implement advanced treatments to stabilize and support patients’ conditions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including neurologists, neurosurgeons, and intensivists, to develop and execute individualized care plans.
  • Respond promptly to emergent situations, providing advanced life support interventions and neuro-specific care.
  • Perform neuro assessments, including Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) and intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses to treatments.
  • Provide patient and family education related to neurological conditions, treatments, and recovery expectations.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure – Required
  • Substantial experience in Neuro ICU or critical care nursing – Required
  • Proficiency in advanced life support interventions, including ventilator management and neurological assessments.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications – Required
  • Experience with intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, stroke management, and neuro-specific critical care interventions – Highly Preferred
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to manage complex, rapidly changing patient conditions in a high-acuity environment.
