Job Title: Speech and Language Pathologist (Rehabilitation)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Location: St. Joseph, MO 64501
Shift: Days
Hourly Rate: $47 to $50 on W2
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Pathologist to join our rehabilitation team in St. Joseph, MO. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. This is a 13-week assignment with day shifts, providing an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and patient goals.
- Treatment and Intervention:
- Implement evidence-based therapy interventions to address communication and swallowing disorders.
- Provide training and education to patients and their families to support therapy goals and improve outcomes.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to provide holistic care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure coordinated care.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and submit reports as required by the rehabilitation team and external agencies.
- Patient and Family Education:
- Educate patients and their families on strategies to improve communication and swallowing function.
- Provide resources and support to help patients and families cope with the challenges of speech and language disorders.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Licensure and Certification:
- Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Missouri.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a rehabilitation setting is highly desirable.
- Experience with a variety of patient populations, including adults and geriatrics, is preferred.
