Job Opportunity:RN Med Surg (Medical Surgical) in Salem, VA 24153

• Position: RN: Med Surg (Medical Surgical)
• Location:  Salem, VA 24153
• Pay Rate: $55 -$56 per hour
• Gross Weekly: $2,016.40/week
• Work Week: 36 hours per week
• Shift : Days(12 hour shifts, 3 shifts/week  7-7 )
• Duration: 13 weeks (high Possibility of contract extension) 

Your Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the medical-surgical unit.
• Assess and monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and implement treatment plans.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and facilitate timely interventions.
• Perform routine and emergency procedures as needed.
• Assist in patient education on post-treatment care and recovery.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

• Number of Beds – 36 Beds
• Number of Staff – 55 employees
• Type of staff:   Day Shift – 1 Clinical coordinator/ 6 RN’s / 3 techs / 1 unit secretary--Night Shift – 1 Clinical coordinator/ 6 RN’s / 2 techs
• Patient Ratios – 1:6
• Type of equipment – Baxter IV pumps/ Medfusion pumps/ SCD’s
• EMR – Meditech

Preferred or nice to have:  candidates with these skills will be considered first.

•  Familiar with post-operative patients
•  Competent with dressing changes/ wound care/ drain management

List typical procedures performed on unit(s):  

• Care of the post-operative patient
• Maintain drains
• Wound care

Awards/Recognition:  

• Top  patient experience scores- measured through HCAHPS

Requirements: candidates with these skills will be considered first.

• Current  VA  State or Compact licensure 
• BLS (Must  be through American Heart Association)
• 2 years of Acute Care  Experience
• Covid Card.
• Updated Resume
• SSN & DL
