 Mission Hospital is an 815-bed acute care facility located in Asheville, North Carolina. The hospital is known as the regional referral center for tertiary and quaternary care and is the only Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and children's hospital in western North Carolina.

Mission Hospital offers a variety of specialties, including cardiovascular, orthopedics, neurosciences, oncology, pediatrics, women's services, and behavioral health. The hospital's cardiovascular services include the only open heart and interventional cardiology in the region. Mission Hospital is also the second busiest surgical hospital in North Carolina.  The quality of the facility's services has earned much recognition, such as being named among the nation's best hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, Truven Health Analytics, and Healthgrades.  

The onsite Mission Children's Hospital features 96 beds dedicated to infants and children, including a 51-bed Level III Neonatal ICU. The hospital's pediatric services have also earned numerous awards and accreditations and provides 30 pediatric subspecialists. 

The hospital continues to grow and recently opened a new state-of-the-art patient tower that has over 630,000 square feet, which includes a new Emergency Department, new interventional procedural rooms, new operating rooms, and hosts 220 private patient rooms.  Overall, staff members say that Mission Hospital is a great place to work because of the friendly atmosphere, supportive management, and opportunities for growth.

Unit Information:  (PHARMACY) Location: Address: 509 Biltmore Avenue Floor:  2nd floor pharmacy Building: B Tower Memorial Mission Hospital   General Information Tell us about the unit(s): •         Number of Beds - 815 •         Number of Staff – 150 •         Type of staff: o    Day Shift – 34 pharmacists o    Night Shift -  3 pharmacists  •         Patient Ratios – Depending on area covered •         Type of equipment - Talyst Machine, Pyxis, LAFW, CAI, •         EMR - Cerner, Vigilanz Typical hiring profile Skill Set Most recruited for:    3rd shift pharmacist with broad experience in pediatric and adult pharmaceutical care to work in our central pharmacy.   Oversee technician staff, verify orders, clinical documentation, and other operational needs of a central pharmacy   Must have:  candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. •         Hospital Experience •         Experience overseeing the work of technicians   Preferred or nice to have:  candidates with these skills will be considered first. •          Emergency Department Experience •         Cerner Experience, Vigilanz experience •          3rd Shift Experience •         ACLS experience/certification   List typical procedures performed on unit(s):   •         Order verification  •          Product checking/distribution •         Answering clinical questions from nurses and providers Best personality Fit: •         Team Player •         Adaptable •         Can handle a high-stress environment and use their resources •         Able to multitask •         Positive Attitude REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: •         RPh in North Carolina •         ACLS if would work in ED but not required Floating Area(s): •           Dress Code:   •         Scrub Color/Attire - Forest Green top and bottom, or black bottom.   Business casual also allowed   Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please feel free to attach unit policies and guidelines. •         Many policies governing medication management   Weekends and On calls (if any) •         This person would be working a 7 on 7 off rotation which would include weekends. The rotation could start Wednesday or Thursday
