Job Description: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Springfield, VT 05156

Shift: 12-hour days

Hours: 36 hours per week

Duration: 13 weeks

Pay: $50 to $55 hourly on W2

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our healthcare team for a 13-week assignment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory therapy, providing critical care and support to patients with respiratory conditions. This position offers a competitive hourly rate and requires a commitment to working 12-hour day shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Therapeutic Procedures: Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Mechanical Ventilation: Operate and manage mechanical ventilators and other respiratory equipment.
• Diagnostic Testing: Conduct diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gases (ABGs) and pulmonary function tests (PFTs).
• Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, providing immediate respiratory support and resuscitation as required.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their conditions and the treatments being administered.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all treatments and procedures performed.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Compliance: Ensure all practices are in compliance with healthcare regulations and hospital policies.

Qualifications:

• Certification: Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Licensure: Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in Vermont.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a respiratory therapy role, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Skills: Proficiency in the use of respiratory therapy equipment and technology, excellent communication skills, and strong critical thinking abilities.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move patients or equipment, and perform manual tasks as required.
• Availability: Must be available to work 12-hour day shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
