Job Opportunity: Tech: Surgical Tech in Boston, MA for $56/hr

• Position: Tech: CST - OR/SURGERY
• Location: Boston, MA 02111
• Pay Rate: $56- $57 per hour
• Gross Weekly: $2,305/week
• Work Week: 40 hours per week( 4x10 or 8x5 )
• Duration: 13 weeks (high Possibility of contract extension)
• Shift Notes: 4x10 hour nights - plus call & weekend rotation

Your Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the medical-surgical unit.
• Assess and monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and implement treatment plans.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and facilitate timely interventions.
• Perform routine and emergency procedures as needed.
• Assist in patient education on post-treatment care and recovery.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

• LOCAL adjusted bill rate: $75
• LOCAL adjusted OT rate: $85

• ***PLEASE NOTE MA STATE REQUIREMENTS FOR SURGICAL TECHS*** - OPTION 1: Graduated from a nationally accredited surgical technology program AND hold and maintain an active surgical technologist certification from NBSTSA or - OPTION 2: Graduated from a nationally accredited surgical technology program AND hold and maintain an active surgical technologist certification from NCCT or - OPTION 3: Completed military surgical technology program or - OPTION 4: Were employed as a surgical technician on or before 7/1/2013 ***If using option 2, verify EDU accreditation through CAAHEP online verification***
• Call & weekend rotation(once a month).
• PLEASE NOTE ON SHIFTS: Travelers work 12-hour shifts on the weekends in rotation with other staff. They may also be asked to work 8-hour shifts during the week in rotation.
• Prefer travel experience
• Must have level 1 trauma center experience
• Weekend rotation and call(discretion of manager)
•  Types of cases:
• Ortho, Neuro, General... Eyes/ ENT would be bonus
• See trauma cases
• Academic Facility
• OR has 23 rooms
• Total cases 50-70 per day
• Very busy
• Prefer travel experience
• ****Perioperative CALL EXPECTATIONS:
• All travelers are required to take the same amount of call that permanent staff take. They have been assigned a call center and will be notified of their assigned call center.
• Center 1 and 2 call will change to circulator and tech call.
• RN’s may sign up in tech spots. However, if a tech is not able to fulfill their requirement because too many RN’s are in tech spots, they can bump an RN in order to meet their requirement.
• Call will begin at the end of your shift for shifts ending at 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM. If your scheduled shift goes beyond 5:30 PM (for example until 7:30 PM or 9:30PM), the call for those hours that go past 5:30 PM (5:30 to 7:30 or 9:30) will have to be covered by another call person. If not filled, those spots will be assigned in the same manner all holes are assigned.
• Center 1 circulator call staff may be utilized to circulate cardiac cases.
• Center 2 circulator call staff may be utilized to circulate eye cases.
•  NEURO/ORTHO:
• 3 weekdays per month (evenings or nights)
• 10 staff per month will have to take 2 weekend shifts, all remaining staff will take 1 weekend shift. The staff who take 2 shifts will rotate each month. It will be posted each month which staff are due for 2 weekend shifts.
• CENTER 1:
• 3 weekdays per month (evenings or nights)
• 4 staff per month will have to take 2 weekend shifts, all remaining staff will take 1 weekend shift. The staff who take 2 shifts will rotate each month. It will be posted each month which staff are due for 2 weekend shift

Required Certifications:

• BLS
• An active surgical technologist certification CST from NBSTSA
• Graduated from a nationally accredited surgical technology program 
• MUST have strong ortho & neuro Experience
• SSN
• Covid card
• DL
• 2 professional References(Supervisory)
