Job Description: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Pittsfield, MA 01201
Shift: 12-hour Days, 36-hour guarantee per week
Duration: 13 weeks
Pay: $50 to $55 hourly on W2
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our healthcare team in Pittsfield, MA, for a 13-week assignment. This position requires working 12-hour day shifts with a 36-hour workweek guarantee. The RRT will play a critical role in providing respiratory care and support to patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and assess patients’ responses to treatments, adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests.
- Operate and maintain respiratory therapy equipment, including ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP machines, and oxygen delivery devices.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions and the use of therapeutic equipment.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all respiratory therapy procedures and patient progress.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions such as airway management and resuscitation.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control procedures, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in respiratory therapy.
- Proficiency in using respiratory therapy equipment and performing diagnostic tests.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
