Job Description
**5/27 or 6/9 Start Date ONLY** **Must have Periop experience** Department: Periop Clinical Educator General Certification Requirements: BLS ,CNOR, NIHSS Experience or 'Must have' skills: Master's degree in related field OR Master's degree in progress; Four years of nursing experience with demonstrated progressive teaching and communication skills OR five years of nursing experience with specialty certification AND Masters in progress Is this position a patient educator roll or employee based roll: Employee based roll How many employee/patients will the educator be responsible for average workload?: The amount of people educating at one time will be variable from 1:1 to the entire department at staff meetings ~70. Periop 101 classes will be less than 5 at a time. No patient education, only staff. EMR: CERNER- Surginet What areas do they cover (Nursing Home, Skilled Nursing, IRF, Inpatient, Outpatient, ER, Home Care, Employees, etc.): Perioperative Services to include OR, Perianesthesia, SPD and Cardiac Cath Lab Common types of patients & job duties: This position plans, develops, coordinates, and implements staff development, continuing education, orientation, annual update, and competency evaluation processes including remediation of staff. Manager/Supervisor: Silje Kennedy, Senior Director Perioperative Services Shifts & Scheduling? (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?):M-F 0630-1500 , 40 hrs/week may need to flex around specific education events Are Weekends Required?: no weekends Are Holidays Required? no holidays What is the dress code? Scrubs - Color? Or Business Casual?: scrubs provided by facility, or business casual How much orientation is provided?:Standard NEO and departmental orientation as necessary
