Job Description

  • Start Date: 11/25/2024

    Shift: Days, 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM (8-hour shifts)

    Rate: $51/hr

    Weekend/On-Call Requirements: Weekends and on-call required

    Attendance Policy: 3-strike policy for tardiness/absence

    Position Overview

    As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will handle sterilization, assembly, and maintenance of surgical instruments to ensure patient safety. Key tasks include:

    • Preparing and sterilizing instruments for surgeries and medical procedures
    • Assembling surgical instrument trays, including specialty requests
    • Operating and maintaining various sterilization equipment (e.g., steam, ETO, low-temp gas plasma)
    • Documenting sterilization processes and managing inventory
    • Ensuring sterility of supplies and monitoring for packaging integrity

    Requirements

    • Experience: 3+ years in sterile processing (travel experience preferred)
    • Certifications: HSPA (IAHCSMM) preferred; CBSPD accepted
    • Skills: Familiarity with various sterilization methods, detailed record-keeping

    Shift: Days, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (8-hour shifts, M-F)

    On-Call Requirements: Some weekend call required

    Position Overview

    This role entails decontaminating, sterilizing, and organizing equipment for surgeries, including:

    • Collecting used equipment for sorting and decontamination
    • Manually cleaning, preparing, and packing items for sterilization
    • Operating and monitoring sterilization equipment, and examining supplies for cleanliness
    • Maintaining sterilization logs, inventory control, and reordering supplies

    Requirements

    • Experience: 2+ years in sterile processing
    • Certifications: BLS (AHA), IAHCSMM or CBSPD
    • Additional Documents: Skills checklist (within 1 year), two supervisory references
