Key Responsibilities:

• Patient monitoring:

  • Checking vital signs like blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respirations. 
  • Observing patient behavior and reporting any changes in condition. 
  • Monitoring for potential complications related to treatments or medications. 

• Medication administration:

  • Administering oral, topical, and in some cases, injectable medications as prescribed by a physician. 
  • Verifying patient identity and medication details before administration. 
  • Documenting medication administration accurately. 

• Basic patient care:

  • Assisting with personal hygiene tasks like bathing, dressing, and toileting. 
  • Changing dressings and wound care 
  • Providing comfort measures like positioning and supportive care 

• Documentation:

  • Maintaining detailed patient records, including vital signs, medication administration, observations, and any pertinent information. 
  • Completing necessary paperwork and electronic health records (EHR) updates 

• Communication and collaboration:

  • Communicating effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members 
  • Reporting any significant changes in patient status to the registered nurse or physician 
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans 

• Other potential duties may include:

  • Preparing patients for procedures 
  • Assisting with basic laboratory tests 
  • Educating patients on self-care practices related to their condition 
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the clinic area 

Qualifications:

• Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) certification in California (don’t leave home without it!).
• Hospital experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train enthusiastic LVN who love to learn.
• Excellent communication skills—extra points if you can throw in a great dad joke!
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (but don’t worry, no capes required).

Job Types:Contract

Pay: $35.00 - $39.00 per hour (plus, we promise it’ll come with good vibes!)

Expected hours: 40 per week (with coffee breaks, snack breaks, and, well, more breaks!)
