Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for our Emergency Room (ER) in Carmichael, CA. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, efficient nursing care to patients experiencing a wide range of emergency conditions, from trauma to medical crises. This role requires excellent critical thinking skills, the ability to perform under pressure, and a commitment to delivering compassionate care in a high-intensity environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Emergency Care: Provide comprehensive care to patients experiencing medical emergencies, including trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, and other critical conditions.
  • Triage and Assessment: Quickly assess patient needs, prioritize care based on urgency, and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with ER physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans for emergency patients.
  • Administer Medications and Treatments: Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, and treatments as needed, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on treatment processes, care plans, and follow-up care post-discharge.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including vital signs, assessments, treatments, and outcomes using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Meditech.
  • Critical Care Support: Provide immediate interventions for patients requiring life-saving care, including trauma stabilization, resuscitation, and critical monitoring.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements in all aspects of care.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Room nursing or other critical care settings (ICU, Trauma, or Acute Care).
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize care and manage multiple patients simultaneously in high-stress situations.
  • Experience with advanced life support techniques and emergency care procedures (e.g., trauma care, cardiac arrest, stroke management).
  • Active CA State RN license required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certifications preferred.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure, managing emergency situations with confidence and compassion.
