Sterile Processing Technician Position in Sault Ste. Marie, MI

  • Hourly Pay Rate: $34/hr
  • Shift: Days
  • Contract Duration: 3 Months
  • Certifications Required: BLS by AHA (Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association)
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years

Job Description: A Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment. They ensure that all surgical instruments are clean, sterilized, and available for use during surgical procedures.

Requirements:

  • At least two years of experience working as a Sterile Processing Technician.
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
  • Ability to work day shifts.
  • Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Decontaminate and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality.
  • Assemble instrument trays and sets according to established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with surgical staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of sterile supplies and equipment.
