Position Overview

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a sterile and safe environment by cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment. This position demands a meticulous approach to inventory and sterilization standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sterilization: Decontaminate, sterilize, and disinfect surgical instruments and healthcare equipment for operating rooms and other areas.
  • Assembly & Organization: Disassemble and organize surgical instruments, preparing them for distribution.
  • Inventory & Distribution: Manage receipt, storage, and distribution of sterile supplies and instruments.
  • Quality Control: Maintain equipment functionality by performing routine maintenance and ensuring high standards of cleanliness.

Job Requirements

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years in sterile processing.
  • Certification:
    • Certified Sterile Processing (CSP) - Required
    • BLS (AHA) - Required upon start
    • IAHSCMM certification preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with SurgiDat program.
  • EMR: Familiarity with Cerner EMR system.

Additional Information

  • Attendance Policy: A strict attendance policy is in place to ensure punctuality and reliability.
  • Additional Pay Details:
    • Competitive pay rate for this travel assignment.
    • Nonbillable Hours: The first 12 hours if the rate exceeds $40/hour.
    • Overtime/Holiday: Additional pay applies.
    • Local Traveler Policy: A 10% pay rate reduction applies for candidates within a 35-mile radius.
