• Position: RN: Med Surg (Medical Surgical)
• Location: Red Bluff, CA 96080
• Pay Rate: $63-$64 per hour
• Gross Weekly: $2,480/week
• Work Week: 36 hours per week
• Shift Notes: Nights(12 hour shifts, 3 shifts/week)Shifts: 12 hrs 7-7, self scheduling to some degree
• Duration: 13 weeks (high Possibility of contract extension)
• Shift Notes:- Nights, EOW, First to Float 

Your Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the medical-surgical unit.
• Assess and monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and implement treatment plans.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and facilitate timely interventions.
• Perform routine and emergency procedures as needed.
• Assist in patient education on post-treatment care and recovery.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

Job Description

Unit Notes:MedSurg/MedSurg peds

• Trauma Level: 3
• Charting System/ EMR: Cerner 
• # beds: 45 beds  total - adult medsurg and pediatric medsurg combined, pediatric experience preferred
• Ratios: 1 to 5
• Charge Nurse: Yes team lead - does not take pt assignment
• Nurse Aides: Yes - they do 8 or 10 hr shifts, from 1am-7am there is no tech
• Weekend Requirement: every other or 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule
• Scrub Color: navy
• Tele: Nurses do not need to know how to read and interpret
• Vents: No
• Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: hospitalist available but not 24/7
• IV Team: No
• RT 24/7: Yes
• Pharmacy 24/7: No 10 hr days
• Shifts: 12 hrs. 7-7, self-scheduling to some degree, schedules made out about 30-45 days in advance
• Floating: Not required but they can float to tele or OB if they want and have that experience
• Floor specific orientation: 2-3 days, one of those days - half of the day is spent doing a scavenger hunt
• Common diagnosis / Types of patients: medsurg patients, COPD, post-op, GI bleeds, OBGYN surgeries, ortho
• Additional Notes: Must have 2-3 years in specialty, very fast paced unit, patients move in and out quickly, avg length of stay is 3 days, may see protonix or heparin drip, pediatric experience preferred, if traveler does not have that experience they will not take pediatric patients

Requirements: candidates with these skills will be considered first.

• Current CA state licensure 
• BLS, ACLS(Must  be through American Heart Associatio)
• PALS Preferred
• 3 year of acute care Cerner Experience
• Covid Card.
• NO BSN Required.
