Summary: Sleep lab technologist provides care for patients undergoing sleep studies and sleep disorder treatment. Duties: The sleep lab technologist will prepare for the arrival of the patient by setting up equipment for the ordered test. Interview the patient to determine any sleep issues and explain the testing procedures to the patient. Perform ordered test as well as any additional testing that may be needed Educates patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources. Prepare, calibrate, repair, and maintain equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs and replacements. Score, interpret, and report results of sleep studies Recognizes, documents, and reports all unusual patient response to treatment or testing. Consistently follow all department policies and procedures. All other duties as assigned POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 2 years of experience High School Diploma/GED Basic Life Support Required Licensure/Certification: Registered as a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or equivalent. VERIFICATION OF CREDENTIALS CHECKLIST Before agency personnel may provide care to patients or perform any responsibility requiring a license, a HR representative will confirm receipt of the following credentials/documents from candidates travel agency: • Current license or multistate license and source verified • Copies of certifications required for the position that are listed in the Job Description. o Such as: BLS and ACLS must be AHA, and PALS. • Immunization records including documentation of immunity to Rubella, Rubeola, Mumps, Varicella-Zoste, Hep B and Tetanus. • TB test within the last year. The only acceptable test is QuantiFERON • Influenza shot is required by the State of Colorado no exceptions during influenza season. Influenza season is Sept 1st (depending on availability of flu vaccines) through to March 31st of the following year, or as otherwise defined by the Department of Epidemiology and Flu Surveillance Team. • Copy of negative 10 panel drug screen results (within the last 30 days). • Resume’ with work experience. • Documented references. • Proof of all required Regulatory (OSHA) Training. • Assessment of skills/competencies. • Results of criminal background check including OIG (within the last 30 days). • CAPS check through the State of Colorado (required for all patient care positions).
