Tell us about the unit(s):
• Number of Beds -20 Bed Stroke Unit
• Number of Staff – Depending on the census
• Type of staff:
o Day Shift – (example 1 charge, 3 RN, 2 CNA, and 1-3 sitters) 1 CN 2 License, 1 CNA
o Night Shift – 1 CN, 2 license 1 CAN. Depending on census and required matrix
• Patient Ratios – 1:6
• Type of equipment -
• EMR - Meditech
Typical hiring profile
Skill Set Most recruited for: (Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters)
Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
• NIH Certification
• Med-surgical competency
• BLS and ACLS
Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.
• Great interpersonal skills, compassionate care.
• Has great critical thinking skills

List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
• Thoracentesis, Bone morrow biopsy.
•
Dress Code: Include requirements, but most of all not acceptable attire.
• Scrub Color - Royal blue scrubs with combination of white
•

• JC certified stroke Unit
• Gold Elite plus award for Stroke care by AHA
• Awarded for Medical Surgical Unit of Distinction for two years in a row.
• Leading unit in maintaining quality metrics related to HAI. (Zero CAUTI, Zero C-Dif, 0 Clabsi for 218 days.)
