Job Title: RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Location: Santa Maria, CA

Pay Range: $2,700 to $2,800/week

Shift: Nights


Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team in Santa Maria, CA. This position offers a competitive weekly pay rate and an opportunity to work with a dedicated team in providing critical care to patients with life-threatening conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in critical care nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide exceptional care to patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Provide expert nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including ongoing assessment, monitoring, and treatment to stabilize their conditions.
  • Assessment & Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs, lab results, and critical health indicators, such as cardiovascular and respiratory status.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Administer medications, fluids, and therapies as ordered, including IV medications, blood products, and mechanical ventilation.
  • Care Planning: Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies, including cardiac arrest and respiratory failure, and provide life-saving interventions as necessary.
  • Patient Education: Provide education to patients and their families about critical illness, recovery expectations, and post-ICU care.
  • Documentation: Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, responses, and progress in the medical records system.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all ICU equipment is properly maintained, sanitized, and functioning, including ventilators, IV pumps, and monitoring devices.

Requirements:

  • Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of California.
  • Experience: Proven experience working in an ICU or critical care setting preferred.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
    • Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in critical care nursing.
    • Ability to assess and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working within a team and with patients' families.
    • Ability to perform under pressure in high-stress environments.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple critical patients simultaneously.
