Job Description: Occupational Therapy Assistant (Rehab)
Location: St. Joseph, MO 64505
Shift: Days
Duration:13 weeks
Pay: $30 to $35 hourly on W2
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our rehabilitation team in St. Joseph, MO. The OTA will work under the supervision of licensed Occupational Therapists to provide therapeutic services to patients, helping them improve their daily living and working skills. This position requires a commitment to enhancing patient care and a collaborative approach to rehab services.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans as designed by Occupational Therapists.
- Provide direct therapy services to patients, including exercises, therapeutic activities, and use of adaptive equipment.
- Monitor and document patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and activities to continue at home, ensuring the continuation of care.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, documenting treatments and progress.
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team, including Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to deliver comprehensive care.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean treatment area, ensuring equipment is sanitized and in good working order.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient case discussions.
- Adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and safety.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Missouri.
- BLS certification.
- Previous experience in a rehabilitation setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to therapy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
